Gig Mill Primary Swimming Pool Development

This is a project to refurbish and swimming pool and swimming pool building at Gig Mill Primary School and open it up for year round use by local community groups, clubs and other schools. The pool is currently under used (open summer term and for school’s own pupils only) and the school, which is an extended community school, wants to see it available for use by all of the community. The school plans to have the refurbished pool open every day, including weekends and evenings to ensure maximum usage. It has its own separate entrance. The local community will benefit from the refurbished pool through structured lessons, aquafit, hydrotherapy rehabilitation and adult learning opportunities. The new boiler and building will be far more energy efficient, bringing cost and environmental benefits.
