Glen Moss – Pond Project

Glen Moss is a mire that was deliberately flooded in the 18th century for recreational purposes. It now has a variety of habitats including open water, sphagnum bog, dry heaath, scrub, woodland and grassland, which attract a diverse range of bird, insect and plant life.
The project is for the upgrading of a 300m stretch of footpath to cater for increased usage by visitors. The ponds will be cleaned out in order to ensure that the habitat is protected for the dragonflies so that visitors have a better chance of viewing dragonfly behaviour.
