Gloucester City Council – Netheridge Meadows

Netheridge Farm for many years was a modest council owned holding managed by a local farmer. With the construction of a new bypass across the site the holding was taken back into council management. The objective was to create an environmental asset for the people of Gloucester with the old farm buildings at its heart being deployed as an environmental centre. This application focuses on the remainder of the holding which is to be managed as an accessible mosaic of traditional Seven Vale habitats; A traditional cider and perry orchard, wet grassland, and a water vole friendly ditch network. Footpaths interpretation boards and disabled access are part of the proposal.
