Gochurch Global, Lancashire- Roof refurbishment

The project relates to the refurbishment of existing building roof in order to resolve the current problems of leakage, condensation, and poor thermal insulation.
Back in 2008 while carrying out some internal refurbishment works in the building it was highlighted that the roof conditions were poor, so it was decided to carry out a full inspection.
The inspection report confirmed the substandard roof conditions, with extensive leakage, inadequate construction detailing, and non compliant with Building Regulations/ British Standards in terms of thermal insulation and construction.
The project proposal consists in over-cladding the roof with a new roofing system.
Due to the lack of finances it was not possible to carry out any refurbishment works on the roof, therefore the situation has worsen. Currently water ingress is experienced through the roof (causing constant damage on ceiling tiles and interior finishes) as well as an impact on the building energy performance.
