Golborne Sports and Social Club, Wigan – MUGA (50121/D/TP)

The project aim is to protect the only community sport assets serving Lowton and Golborne and the 46,500 participants it supports. The area has no indoor community sports facilities; the only floodlit accessible facility is the pitch at GSSC. Installed in 1997 it has been heavily used ever since, the project is to upgrade the playing surface, fence and lights to both sustain existing participation levels and develop new and higher level opportunities by: • upgrading the current sand-filled surface to sand dressed, • upgrading the low level fencing with an improved secure fence • Upgrade the floodlights to be more efficient. The Trust grant will contribute towards the MUGA.
