Gosling Sike – Access to the Community Garden

The project will improve facilities for volunteers and visitors in the wildlife and sensory garden at Gosling Sike Farm to benefit a diverse range of people across both rural and urban communities in Carlisle. This project will allow people to participate in food growing, wildlife gardening, volunteering and access to greenspace. We would like to;
• Create a workshop to be used by volunteers and project staff to host a range of activities needed to undertake work at Gosling Sike, local green spaces and surrounding nature reserves.
• Provide a sheltered seating area near to the workshop for volunteers to use and to enable group activities.
• Create series of interpretation panels to give people information about the gardens and inspire them to create their own wildlife gardens.
• Provide easy access pathways to give full wheelchair access to as much of the site as possible.
• To undertake the paths and some of the planting we need to improve the drainage in parts of the site.
