Gotham Sports Arena Surface Refurbishment

The current artificial turf surface dates from 1999. The surface is now showing signs of wear and could soon become dangerous. In 2017, A Rushcliffe Borough Council audit of sports facilities described the surface as being of ‘poor quality’ and recommended refurbishment. Both this and feedback from current and potential users has shown that the surface is of an outdated design. The technology behind these sports surfaces has improved over the years, and upgrading to a modern 4G design would attract new users as well as continuing to support the existing ones. Sport, particularly for the elderly, is important for physical health and well being.
