Govan C – cspace

The Govan ‘C’ CSPACE project is the proposed redevelopment of an area of land located at Carmichael Street in Govan. The area is a disused enclosed sports pitch currently used for anti social behaviour and has no function within the local community. Govan Initiative has been working in partnership wih Kelvin Clyde Greenspace, Govan Housing Association, Communities Scotland, local community, 3 community to regenerate the area and transform it into a community asset.
The project has set up a focus group led by local residents and a study tour/site visits have taken place. By engaging with and working in partnership with residents a design has been developed which suits the needs of the community as a whole. This will provide a quality greenspace facility for the local community while also reducing levels of crime and anti-social behaviour. The redeveloped space will provide an area for all sections of the community to use as well as providing the opportunity for community events to take place.
