GPE0744 Why Waste Wood? Firelighting and Firewood Skills

Norley Rural Skills Centre is a formerly neglected site which has been slowly undergoing a transformation over the last few years through the work of BTCV Volunteers and locals.With Guy Fawkes' Night happening the same week, participants will get the chance to build their own bonfire while also learning why not to waste wood and the value it has as a fuel for heating, cooking and charcoal making.Participants will get to split, sort and stack wood while also learning about tree identification, timber as a resource, including the difference between hardwoods and softwoods.
