GPE0759 Lakeside Revetment

Alkrington nature reserve was once a mill site and therefore has many lodges (lakes). These lodges are now used by the general public for fishing and by wildlife. Along one side of Rhodes lodge the bank is slowly being washed away by the gradual wave action of the lake. Because of this there is now no vegetation for wildlife and the banks and fishing pegs are unsafe to use. The volunteers would be constructing solid bases for the fishing pegs and along the edge of the lodge constructing a similar solid edge to form a revetment and then back filling with wetland plants.
