We will help young people who live in the locally-deprived Bemerton Heath estate to conduct a programme of improvements in the wood which lies at the heart of the Estate. Bemerton Heath housing estate is notorious for its delinquancy and antisocial behaviour. Past works to reduce crime in the woods have been very successful, but a lot of work still needs to be done to make the woodland a safer place for local people, and to improve its habitat value for wildlife. the project will include accredited training for young people taking part, including two who will complete a chainsaw users qualification and first aid qualification.
