Granite City Woodlands – Seaton Community Woodland

The Seaton neighbourhood of Aberdeen is a priority area in terms of regeneration in the city.
The area, to be planted, is a large open little used area of grassland adjacent to the Donmouth Local Nature Reserve.
This project forms part of Phase 1 of a two phase programme of new woodland creation over a three year period involving the planting, maintenance and successful establishment of new mixed conifer and broadleaved woodlands. It will enhance the biodiversity value of the City’s greenspace and help create new wildlife and woodland habitat corridors within the city; provide environmental education opportunities for local schools and young people; provide new and add value to existing public access to green spaces and woodlands within the city, making them safe and welcoming and places for healthy exercise and relaxation; improve linkages between the City’s core path network and the City’s woodlands; contribute to carbon capture;
