Grassland Enhancement, extending connectivity and biodiversity

This Project will ensure the ecological diversity and significance of grassland areas at Boundary Brook Nature Reserve, to enhance grassland and wildflower floral species and benefit fauna on site. The removal of invasive perennials and scrub will prepare the ground for this enrichment of grassland ground flora revitalising the unique qualities of grassland areas on site, hay meadow, temporary grassland wetland, chalk and alkaline flower mound, cornfield mound, drawn down areas near to freshwater habitats. A living library will be made of raised beds reflecting this floral diversity for nature education of local community and visitors. Completion of path mosaic will ensure increased access to, and connection with, nature for local communities and urban populations enhancing awareness, education, well-being and reducing carbon footprint for those wishing to access nature and be inspired towards sustainable living.
