Gravesend Rugby Club, Kent – Astro Pitch Resurface (006346)

The project is to replace the existing astro pitch surface and shockpad underneath, which is over 20 years old and worn out, with a much needed new surface. The resurface is essential to ensure that this vital sports provision is kept open. It is the only full size astro pitch in the local area and is currently used daily by people of all ages, from school children to vets. Many sports are played on the surface, including hockey, football, rounders, cricket, school sports and recreation, rugby training and quicksticks.

The pitch is available for hire and use by the whole local and wider community of Gravesham. Over 3,000 people benefit from the use of this pitch currently. It is situated within a multi-cultural area within easy reach of all local transport, near the town centre.
