Projects / Grazing at Denham Country Park

Grazing at Denham Country Park

One of the key habitats at Denham Country Park is wet grassland which supports a range of wildflowers and invertebrates. Current management involves cutting of yearly growth. A more sustainable approach to management, which will also help encourage more wildflowers and a greater variety of habitats, would be the introduction of cattle grazing on the site. To enable this it is necessary to incorporate the fencing infrastructure, including corral installation to “hold cattle” when they are being checked and kissing gates. Following completion grazing will take place during the summer months for the foreseeable future. Visitors will be able to get enjoyment from seeing livestock on site.
