Great Salkeld Village Hall Renewal III

Great Salkeld Reading Room and Library was built in 1895 and the Village Hall was added in 1911. For about 50 years, the facilities were used for their intended purposes and as a social centre for the village. Use of the reading room and the pool table declined so the committee looked at renovating the hall and the facilities. Phase I and II of the hall improvements upgraded the snooker room to be used as a meeting room, installed a new kitchen, provided hot water to the toilet areas and generally improved the decoration of the building.
The project now aims to:-
Renew two toilet areas and build a storage cupboard.
Replace all existing windows with Double Glazed Windows. This element will not be considered by CWMET as the committee have decided to proceed with UPVC windows due to maintenance cost levels of windows.
