Great Trees at Barton Pool

Barton Pool is important for its wetland habitat and the diversity of bird and insect species present. The site has ten veteran willow trees which form an iconic landscape feature in the locality. These trees urgently require pollarding before they crack and potentially become prone to rot and disease.

Contractors will be employed to undertake the pollarding. The project will also provide an interpretation panel which will provide information regarding the trees and site. This panel will be enjoyed by hundreds of visitors who can easily access the area owing to a new trail that runs parallel to the site.
