Green Wheel Upgrade

The Green Wheel is an award winning 45 mile cycle route / footpath around the city of Peterborough cnstructed by PECT 8 years ago. It is fully accessible by the public and is used for both recreation and commuting. The route incorporates quiet lanes, existing bridleways and brand new rights of way. Originally it was considered that a limestone dust surface would be adequate on the rural sections, however due to the heavy usage a more hard wearing surface is required on some sections. This project will seek to undertake such work along with signage improvements as identified by an initial survey.
