Greening Donside

‘Greening Donside’ is a long-term project by the residents of Donside Village to Green their new Village, located on the site of the former Donside Papermill in Tillydrone, Aberdeen.

Greening Donside includes activities around food growing, landscape improvements for people and wildlife, waste reduction and so on, towards creating Aberdeen’s first sustainable community.

This specific element of Greening Donside is to open up and improve an area of riverfront for people of all abilities and local wildlife. It aims to give all abilities access to a former landfill and turn it into a thriving space for recreation, relaxation and education.

The area is being landscaped, planted, seeded and new paths and fencing put in. This is on the back of a currently completing community hydro energy development which is taking place in the area.
