Greening Viewforth Playpark & Surrounds

To improve the playpark environment and experience through measures to green and soften the harsh surrounding urban landscape creating a more conducive and attractive environment for children’s play and walks through the town. It will indirectly encourage greater outdoor activity by children and adults and also foster biodiversity. The project plans to establish 24 semi-mature trees in the playpark site (16 within the perimeter, 8 on the adjoining/nearby verges), to plant spring bulbs in and around the trees and verges, to selectively plant flowering shrubs on the railings and adjoining shrub bed.
