Projects / Greenlaw Town Hall

Greenlaw Town Hall

The aim is to save Greenlaw Town Hall, an A-listed property built in 1829 as the County Hall for Greenlaw. The building forms the centrepiece for Greenlaw village and is a prominent landmark along a main road from the borders to Edinburgh (A697). It is in a derelict state and is unusable by the local community. The project proposes to repair and restore the building, including the re-use of the main rear hall as a community venue. Bringing this space and the principal entrance hall into use as a public amenity.
The proposals for the main rear hall include the consolidation and repair of the main rear hall and the provision of two kitchen and WC pods, heating and lighting to enable this part of the building to be used as a community venue for concerts, weddings, exhibition space, creche’s, meeting space for local groups and markets.
The overall project also includes the re-use of other parts of the building as office space for small local business.
