Grey Partridge Recovery

Grey partridge are a UK Biodiversity Action Plan (CAP) ‘Priority Species’ with the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) the lead partner tasked with delivering the Species Action Plan objectives to (a) increase numbers to 90,000 pairs by 2010 and (b) maintain and increase their range. The objectives ofo the project are to (1) quantify the status and distribution of grey partridge in the Durham Dales to establish regional land local BAP targets and actions, (2) collect detailed information on their habitat use and population dynamics to inform conservation management, and (3) re-establish grey partridge using proven fostering techniques.
