Projects / Growing for Moorland Restoration

Growing for Moorland Restoration

Collection of seed or softwood cuttings from local moorland and clough woodland sites and propagation in community plant nursery beds which will be constructed and then be managed by community volunteers/trainees. Linked workshops will take place with local schools visiting the project to take part in activities.
Plants will then be returned to the receptor sites from where material was originally collected in order to stabilise the bare and eroding peat or to enhance the clough woodlands.
