Growing Together – Erne West

The local environment will be directly improved through the planting of approximately 2500 native trees, planting hedges and wildflowers, river improvements, undertaking scrub clearance and woodland management, repairing drystone walls and improving access. This will enhance several habitat types which in turn will support a wide range of wildlife.

Local volunteers will be involved in training and direct action and this will raise environmental awareness in the local area through word of mouth and local publicity. Educational events will raise awareness of biodiversity within schools, communities and the general public.

Much of this work will be of high quality conservation value and will help to achieve the targets of the Fermanagh Local Biodiversity Action Plan.
