Grozone Grow and Eat

We plan to work with older members of the Rudheath Community who, supported by project staff, will share their knowledge of gardening and/or cooking and nutrition with families identified through the local children’s centre.

Our aims:

To link up community members, from different generations, to teach and learn together about growing and cooking seasonal food.

To enthuse a new generation about growing your own vegetables and fruit and using them in preparing healthy and tasty food

To enable families to work together on a project which is based around outdoor exercise and meal times

To harness existing skills amongst the older members of the community and give them the support to pass their skills and knowledge on

To offer formal training and qualification opportunities to enable project participants – mentors and families – to improve their skills set and gain accreditation for their involvement in the project.
