Habitat Development at Quarry Holes

A practical project at Quarry Holes Nature Reserve in Nottingham City to increase the area of species rich neutral grassland in lowland nottinghamshire. This will achieved by removing invasive sycamore trees then carrying out minor earthworks and spreading green hay on site taken from other Wildlife Trust reserves.

The project will also work with local children to carry out positive actitivies on site to demonstrate the site’s value as a place for play and discovery.

In addition the project will improve a section of security fencing, plant a new hedgerow and conduct outreach work with local residents.
