Haig Memorial Garden Ladybank

The Haig Memorial Garden was originally opened in 1931 by Countess Haig and at that time it was a very important feature in the town. There was a strong connection between the Haig family and Ladybank with the Earl’s brothers living and owning Ramornie Estate just two or three hundred metres from the garden. Over the years the garden has been entirely neglected and bears no resemblance to the original plan. The trust is aiming to restore this garden to a similar presentation to that of 1931. This will involve digging up the entire garden, laying turf, installing flower beds and rose beds, painting railings and repairing parts of the wall. An interpretation panel will be installed explaining the history of this garden.
