Hall for All, Twickenham – Community Hall Renovation (2702/D)

The project comprises total renovation of a dilapidated but substantial hall near the centre of Whitton, a diverse community of 12,000 in the London Borough of Richmond, to enable it to become a thriving local centre for a wide range of activities including arts, sport, leisure, well-being, support for disadvantaged groups and for youth. A 2008 condition survey established the hall to be structurally sound but in its present run-down condition it is unable to make the local impact it has the capacity to do. The project is being driven by a committed group of volunteers drawn both from the local community and the congregation of St Philip and St James Church, in the grounds of which the Hall is situated. The building, built in the 1950s and located less than 300 yards from Whitton High Street has excellent public transport links.

The grant will contribute towards the community hall renovation costs.
