Hall & Kitchen Improvement Project

Our project aim is to make St Barnabas Hall an asset to the local community. It is a large and architecturally significant building which has never had a formal maintenance programme. We are in the process of redeveloping the fabric of the hall, both inside and outside and employing a Project Development Worker to further develop the programme of activities and facilities which we offer to the local community. With the improvements to the building, especially the kitchen, the hall could be used to benefit many more people from the locality. A survey of needs of the local area showed that there is a need for activities for the elderly eg. a lunch club and events for teenagers. A project was run during the summer in partnership with the PCT for teenagers, which was very well supported and much enjoyed.
