Halton Village Millennium Green, Runcorn – Pathworks, Fencing and Rainwater Harvesting (2) (008027)

The project has 5 elements:
1) Harvest rainwater from two existing container roofs to collect and recycle for raised bed project with local school children and scouts so that they can water their plants in the summer months as the Green does not have a water supply.
2) Renew existing footpaths with and scrape back encroaching grass. Dress the path with Deansett pink surfacing material which is in keeping with the indigenous sandstone in our area.
3) Replace 12 rotting timbers in our existing kick rail fence road-side
4) Replace 27 rotting wooden panels in long boundary fence
5a) Replace the incredibly popular flimsy Little Library with a new purpose built substantial sentry-box style structure with fixed shelving.
5b) Hold workshop with local artist and recruit children to paint and decorate with a stylised environmental design featuring bees, butterflies and flowers
