Handa Island

Handa Island is a wildlife reserve off the west coast of Sutherland which is designated as a Special Protection Area as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its nationally important maritime vegetation communities and internationally important breeding seabird colonies. Despite its remote location, Handa has long been a popular tourist destination.
