Hanley Hope – A Centre for All

The church centre originally built as a school C1931, now serves community groups, including a children’s nursery, a boxing club, food for the homeless, an adult disability support group and an organisation addressing the problem of loneliness amongst old people. Over the years, the centre’s condition has deteriorated & is now in a poor state as of repair meaning it can no longer meet all the needs of the community. If the condition of the centre continues to deteriorate, it will very likely have to close. Our project will install new (double-glazed) windows, repair stonework, repair & fix rainwater-goods, repair the toilet roof (upgrading internal facilities), insulate, re-plaster and redecorate throughout. As a result, Hanley will have a rejuvenated, warm, water-tight, attractive building to support the growth and development of community activities and services. With the installation of the new windows and insulation, we will also have an energy efficient building to support long term sustainability.
