Harewood Pleasure Gardens

Groundwork South Tees and Stockton Borough Council are working to improve Harewood Pleasure Gardens; a wooden former pleasure gardens in Thornaby, Stockton, which are in immediate need of attention. Derelict and difficult to access to anybody with limited mobility the ‘Gardens’ are overgrown and as such a magnet for illicit and illegal activity. The project will: improve access to Harewood Pleasure Gardens for the residents of Thornaby; carry out extensive tree works and ecological improvements (reducing the opportunities for anti – social behaviour) and diversifying the woodland structure; create an attractive entrance and area surrounding the War Memorial; thus providing a useable public green space.
