Harmston Memorial Hall – Restore Our Floor

The project aims to replace the Memorial Hall’s 100 year old timber floor. The construction of the existing floor to the main hall is made up of timber floor boards laid on timber joists supported on brick piers. A survey found that extensive areas of the floor are suffering from wet rot, dry rot and beetle infestation and the entire floor and supporting timbers need to be replaced along with associated repair of supporting walls and underfloor vent and removal and repairs to fixed seating. Funding is sought for the new replacement floor, supporting structure and associated works as noted in the answer to the question above.
