Harrisons Plantation Local Nature Reserve is a tranquil woodland surrounding Raleigh Pond, providing space for nature and people in Nottingham. This site, along with Martins Pond LNR, provides a vital green space for local residents and has an active Friends Group. Following consultation with the local community and Friends Group; NWT and Nottingham City Council would like to improve access for all throughout the entire nature reserve, by increasing and improving access to Raleigh pond, remove two dilapidated wooden boardwalks, improve access at the pond edge, install a new u-shaped recycled plastic boardwalk, install a surfaced path to the boardwalk for greater access, install coir rolls to create marshy back waters, tree removal and reed planting (volunteer activity) to improve water quality, resurfacing the main footpath in areas, replace four bridges, replace the boundary line fence, install two RADAR kissing gates, install new interpretation.
