Havergate Island – Creation of Spillways

Havergate’s saline lagoons are protected by a seawall which is at risk of breaching during storm surges. To prevent a catastrophic breach we will create spillways in the wall, allowing sea water to flow in and out. Due to previous storm damage we also plan to reprofile islands.
