Hawksworth Parish Church – Restoration of Churchyard Wall

The churchyard wall, from the church entrance to the north end of the churchyard, is bowing out and becoming unstable. Both the structural engineer and tree surgeon consulted recommend that a section of the churchyard wall should be rebuilt since it is unstable and likely eventually to collapse. Expert advice has been sought and a scheme of work agreed that will not only make the wall safe but also retain the holly trees which are considered to be about 100 years old.
