Haydock Community Centre

The project aims to construct a new community centre linked to the 1853 church and rectory of St Catherine’s in Penrith and to make alterations within the existing rectory to address a space problem that currently severely restricts activities. The new build will provide a 1,100 sq ft hall with audio-visual equipment, toilet facilities and kitchen and the rectory will provide a larger sacristy, enhanced storage, office space and a consultation room. The most neglected groups in the community are targeted (the elderly and mothers & toddlers) and a new youth club will be established. The facility will be open to all and will not be restricted by membership requirements or fees.
