Hayfield Hall Refurbishment of South Windows

The main aim of our project is to achieve a greener, warmer, more energy efficient community building for the Hayfield area of Kirkcaldy, which is in the 15% most deprived on the Scottish Index of MultipleDeprivation. This will encourage more people to use the centre for leisure, fitness and training opportunities and contribute to social cohesion in a multicultural community while enabling thecommunity to manage their facility more sustainably into the future.
We plan to install double-glazing on the three large south-facing Hall windows to curb heat loss andconvert one into a door to provide easy access to the safe fenced garden area for user groups. Thiswould facilitate environmental activities with children and adult groups during sessions in the Hall.
The community would benefit from a warmer Hall, easier to heat and use, while also becoming more aware of climate change issues and the benefits of energy-efficiency measures through seeing them inpractice in their own community.
