Heapey and Wheelton Village Hall – Adapting to Climate Change

The purpose of the Village Hall is to provide social, educational and recreational facilities for the residents of Heapey, Wheelton and the surrounding villages. Using the recommendations of two energy efficiency reports, the installation of appropriate technologies will increase the energy efficiency of the building with consequent reductions in carbon emissions and utility bills (predicted savings of 20% for gas and 45% for electricity). Wider community benefits will include a much improved community facility, leading to increased use by local people and greater financial sustainability of the Village Hall, which is effectively funded through local fundraising and lettings.
