Heating Development

The centre doesn’t have a central heating system. When they acquired the building in 2017 it had been empty for some years and had nothing in the way of heating. They currently rely on a portable gas blow heater to initially heat a room and electric wall heaters to try and maintain a good temperature. The gas heaters are inefficient, expensive to run and difficult and potentially unsafe to manoeuvre from room to room. A consultation showed that vulnerable users found it particularly challenging to attend activities in colder months because of the lack of adequate heating.
