Helix Adventure Zone, Falkirk – Outdoor Play Area (Phase 2) (50257/D)

This project is focused on the delivery of Phase 2 of the Helix Adventure Zone and aims to provide specialised and specific outdoor play equipment for children of all ages who have moderate to severe learning, physical and sensory disabilities. Access to outdoor play can improve confidence; social interaction and awareness of the external environment and can improve quality of life. Through securing additional funding we are planning to install equipment that will appeal to children who have a physical, learning and/or sensory disability that provides them with a stimulating play experience whilst also ensuring they feel part of the Helix Adventure Zone experience. Phase One of this innovative project opened in June 2014 and has proved extremely popular and whilst the equipment selected aimed to ensure children of all abilities could have the same extent of play the funding secured did not enable the project to install more specialised pieces of play equipment.
