Hemingford Peace Memorial Field

The project is to replace worn out and missing play equipment at Hemingford Pavilion with a new playpark with inclusive elements.
The Playpark on the field at the Hemingford Pavilion is an integral part of the overall facilities used by the village & surrounding areas but it is 25 years old now and is not fit for purpose. It is negatively impacting on families with younger children as well as grandparents & carers and needs to be rebuilt urgently.

The overall project involves:

Building a path from the Pavilion to the Playpark area which is both pushchair & wheelchair friendly.
Replacing the existing fence around the Playpark with a new 3 metre high fence.
Removal & disposal of the existing equipment.
Groundworks: excavation of the site & laying a new safe surface for the Playpark.
The supply & installation of the new Playpark equipment which includes items that aim to be beneficial to children who are disabled or have mental health issues.
Provide a seating area for parents & carers which is also wheelchair friendly.

The total cost of the project is £104k. The Thalia WB Community Fund would be used to contribute towards the cost & installation of the play equipment and the playpark surfacing.
