Herdings Park Play Area

To improve the existing play area at Herdings Park which is within one of the citys most deprived neighbourhoods. The park has never been updated and any replacements of play equipment have immediately been vandalised and over the years the park has become more of a community hazard than a community asset and thus it has become very underused, despite regular user groups such as the bowling club and football teams making use of the parks other facilities.

Public consultation has revealed vast public support for this project and it is anticipated that through improving the site and facilities, more people will be attracted to the park to use it positively, which will deter those who currently carry out antisocial activities and vandalise the environment
