Hestercombe Gardens – West Combe Dam Restoration: Phase 2

The project is to restore the dam and pond in the woodland at West Combe, to the west of the 18th Century landscape at Hestercombe. Saving a derelict historic dam and restore the pond The dam dates from the late 17th Century. The pond is one of a number of key features in the Grade 1 registered landscape. The restoration will enhamce the habitat of the rare and endangered Lesser Horseshoe bat, together with the eight other bat species recorded at Hestercombe.
