High Trees Community Hub, Lambeth – Community Centre Refurbishment (007350)

Reconfiguration of the ground floor and extending use of space into the basement will increase the usable space within the building. Ground floor reconfiguration will create new meeting space for community use, a dedicated employment support zone and internet café to address local unemployment and digital exclusion. Redesign of the large rooms into dedicated multi-use training spaces will enable the applicants to deliver more community education courses to local residents, and create a more high-quality space for community use. The capital project will increase the usable space of the building by 18%, increase room space from 3 to 7, enabling the applicants to increase the number of services on offer, increase the community support and increase community access. The LCF funds would be for use to create the community meeting space.
