Highfield Country Park

Highfield Country Park has recently been awarded with Local Nature Reserve status and this project aims to improve woodlands and footpaths on site, to increase its recreational value. We will deliver quality volunteering experiences and training sessions. Management is essential to the health of the planted woodland on Highfield Country Park as to maintain its value to wldlife. We will reuse felled materials directly from the woodland to create natural log- edged woodchip paths. These footpaths are alternatives to the formal paths on site which will give users a more varied environment to enjoy the park. At present the crowded woodlands are unappealing. The project will make the site feel safer and more accessible by increasing sight- lines and inviting people into the woodland to.
