Highfield Hall, Birmingham Community Garden (006030)

This project will transform an overgrown area into an environmentally friendly space for gentle exercise, mind therapy, meditation and relaxation. The garden will include a sensory area, a healthy eating area with a raised vegetable patch and picnic spot with information boards featuring the local wildlife and birds with a focus on a high number of local residents who suffer with poor mental and physical health . This project will create a safe and encouraging environment where local people can come together and build a healthier community whilst caring for and promoting urban wildlife and nature in the city. It will be a place to hold workshops on health and well being, exercise, outdoor activities, picnics and cooking and encouraging people to come and have a relaxing time while enjoying the flora and fauna.
