Hillside Community Field

The project is the first phase of development for Hillside Community Field. The project will address the remaining drainage issues on site using field drains and swales with associated wetland planting. The local community will also be invited to participate in bulb planting workshops as part of the work. A new entrance will be created to the north of the site, linking to the existing footway and making the field more accessible to people on that side of Tanhouse. A new accessible pathway will also be developed from the new entrance to the infant and junior playgrounds, encouraging a new safe walking route to school. The addition of a sensory garden and natural play area will mean that there are more facilities on the site for people to use as part of their own informal leisure activities. The project will also involve the school and Active West Lancs in setting up organised activities for the local community on the site, aimed at improving health and wellbeing.
