Hilton’s Access and Interpretation

Project aim is to provide excellent amenities at Hilton Gravel Pits SSSI/NR (Nature Reserve) for the benefit of the visiting public. Access will be improved with a wicket gate conversion, new gate and kissing gate, repair of track and paths. Interpretation will be boosted with the addition of two new panels highlighting the specialness of the lichen heath habitat and the beauty of wild orchids and other species. With the numbers of visitors hopefully increased through our publicity, more people will be able to enjoy wildlife in this amazing nature reserve and visit here for health giving reasons.
